Entrepreneurial Opportunities during the Holidays

The holiday season is one of the most profitable times to start your own business, especially one with a festive theme. The holidays are such a good time to start a business because everyone is so busy, extra help and convenience is always welcomed. Your business endeavors can be turned into holiday cash as well, perfect for buying the perfect gift for your loved ones! Here are some of the most profitable holiday businesses.

Personal Shopper

Once gift givers come up with the perfect holiday gift for someone, it becomes more of a chore to actually go out and pick up the items. This is where you come in! You can give potential customers an hourly rate and they can give you their list of gifts for friends and family. Taking care of someone’s shopping frees up time in their day to do other things on their holiday lists.

Gift-Wrapping Service

Wrapping presents seems like a chore that nobody has time for these days. You can print flyers and hang them around local malls, marketing yourself as either a traveling gift wrapper, going to people’s homes or setting up a table in the mall to wrap gifts that were just purchased. Shoppers will relish in the idea of buying and having their gift wrapped all in the same day. If you plan to set up a table in the mall, just make sure you talk to management of the mall to make sure you are in an appropriate location. Price the wrapping according to size and be sure to bring a few sample boxes to show off your expertise!

Selling Cards

Giving the same old greeting cards year after year can be boring, especially for the recipients. Spice up your greeting card selection and send a card that your friends and family will really enjoy. Selling handmade cards is a fun way to make some money around the holidays. These cards can be for all winter holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza. If you aren’t crafty with your hands, but have a knack for computers, make some stylish cards on the computer. Customers will love your creativity and could keep coming back for more all year long!

Starting your own holiday business can be difficult, but these simple ideas can definitely get you on the right track, and help make you some extra money during the holiday season.
